How do I install an external Bluetooth adapter in your notebook

Before I started hacking my laptop, I installed Bluetooth software and verify that the new adapter functioning properly. As you can see the picture below, the Bluetooth icon in the system tray is active and the phone is detected.

For this change, you will need:
1st Laptop disassembly experience. Here are some service manuals for laptops.
2nd Soldering skills and tools, as I mentioned in the power jack repair post.
3rd Inexpensive USB Bluetooth 2.0 adapter. They find it even cheaper in this only for experienced technicians. If you have no experience, you may have (and likely) Damage to your laptop. Proceed at your own risk!

This guide should work for all laptop brands: Toshiba, Dell, HP / Compaq, IBM, Lenovo, Gateway, etc … as long as you have enough space to be to mount the Bluetooth module in the notebook. http://www.papatek.com/LCD- Control Panel /

OK, here's how I did it.

First, I disassembled my laptop and found a place where I can install the Bluetooth adapter. In my guide I'm using Toshiba Satellite A105 notebook. I found enough free space in the upper right corner of the laptop.

My idea was simple. Disassemble the Bluetooth adapter, Remove the Bluetooth module and solder it to the USB ports. I decided one of the USB ports in the lower right corner is utilized.

NOTE: After this Change is completed, you will not be able to use, in particular USB port with another USB device, it does not work because it paid the Bluetooth module is. But I guess it's no big deal, because most laptops have 3-4 USB ports. http://www.papatek.com/Cell-Phone-Accessories/

I found lying around a few thin wires.
Make sure that the wires are long enough for your project.

You must now Adapter disassemble. I easily split the housing of the power supply with a sharp knife and remove the Bluetooth module.

USB connector.As you desolder on the image below The Bluetooth module fits into the empty place inside of the laptop.

I soldered four wires to the Bluetooth module. I used connectors for the USB port.

Then I soldered four wires to four contacts on the back of the USB port. Be careful. Make sure all cables are connected properly.

In the last step, I installed the Bluetooth module in place and routed wires from the module to the USB port. I had to redirect the wires a few times to make sure I cover the top, and seats are installed properly. I secured wires to the motherboard with electrical tape.

Finally, the laptops are assembled and tested. There is no on / off switch on the device for the Bluetooth module, but I can turn it on and on the software.

The Bluetooth adapter installed in the laptop and works fine!
